The Pitco Fryer Crumb Scoop, 2" X 6" X 2" is a direct replacement cleaning tool for Pitco commercial deep fryers. This scoop, measuring 2 inches by 6 inches by 2 inches, is designed to remove accumulated food crumbs and sediment from the bottom of the fry vessel during mid-shift cleaning without requiring a full oil drain. Using the correct crumb scoop helps maintain oil cleanliness between filter cycles, extending oil life and reducing the frequency of full oil changes.
Over time, the original crumb scoop can corrode, deform, or develop damage to the mesh or perforations that reduces its effectiveness at capturing debris from the oil. A worn scoop that cannot efficiently remove sediment allows crumbs to remain in the hot oil where they carbonize, generate bitter flavors, and accelerate oil darkening. Replacing it with this crumb scoop restores effective, frequent crumb removal to support cleaner oil and better-tasting fried product throughout the shift.
The crumb scoop is used by submerging it in the oil and drawing it along the vessel bottom to collect sediment, then lifting the debris out of the fryer — no tools are required. It is recommended to use the crumb scoop between loads or any time visible sediment is observed in the oil, and to replace it when corrosion or deformation reduces its effectiveness.
