The Pitco Gas Control is a direct replacement combination gas valve and control assembly for Pitco commercial gas fryers, integrating the main gas shutoff, pressure regulation, and thermostat-controlled gas flow into a single unit that manages the complete gas supply to the main burners. It receives the control signal from the operating thermostat and safety thermostat to open or close the main burner gas flow, and it includes the pilot gas outlet port that feeds the standing pilot or intermittent pilot system. Using the correct gas control ensures the proper inlet and outlet connection sizes, control voltage, and pressure settings for the specific Pitco fryer model.
Over time, gas control valves can develop internal valve seat leaks, diaphragm failures, or solenoid coil burnouts that result in the fryer failing to heat, heating continuously without cycling off, or allowing gas to pass through a closed valve. Any of these failure modes represents either a loss of cooking capacity or a serious safety hazard.
