The Pitco Gas Valve 1/2" is a direct replacement combination gas valve for Pitco commercial gas fryers with 1/2-inch gas connections. It controls gas delivery to the main burner through an integrated assembly of safety solenoid, main solenoid, pressure regulator, and pilot safety system, all within a single valve body. Using the correct 1/2-inch gas valve ensures proper gas flow capacity, regulated outlet pressure, and safety function compatibility with the specific Pitco fryer model.
Over time, the valve's internal components — including solenoid coils, diaphragms, and pilot safety seat — can fail from heat, electrical stress, gas line contamination, and corrosion, resulting in a fryer that will not light, cannot maintain temperature, or presents a gas leak hazard. The integrated nature of the combination valve means individual internal component failures typically necessitate complete valve replacement. Replacing the valve with the 1/2-inch unit restores reliable, safe gas control.
Installation requires a qualified gas technician to disconnect the gas supply, remove all fittings and wiring, install the new valve with correctly sealed connections, and verify outlet pressure with a manometer.
