The Gaylord Green "Start" Lens (Part# 10053) is a genuine replacement pushbutton lens cover for the illuminated START control on Gaylord ventilator and fire suppression control cabinets. The lens snaps over the pushbutton switch body and carries the green color coding and engraved "START" inscription operators rely on to quickly identify the fan start control at a glance.
Mounted on the exterior control panel, the lens is handled constantly by kitchen staff and is exposed to grease, steam, and cleaning chemicals throughout the day. Repeated pressing combined with that environment causes the plastic lens to crack, discolor, or pop loose from its pushbutton housing, and once the lens is missing or unreadable, staff can no longer visually confirm which button starts the exhaust fan -- a problem in a fast-paced kitchen where the wrong button could be pressed under pressure.
This is a simple component-level replacement a kitchen manager or technician can perform without powering down the control cabinet. Snap the damaged or missing lens off the pushbutton body, and press the new Gaylord lens into place until it seats fully and clicks into position.
