The Gaylord Yoke and Bearing Assembly (Part# 10237) is a genuine replacement linkage component for the damper actuator system on Gaylord commercial kitchen ventilators. The yoke connects the actuator motor to the damper shaft, while the integrated bearing supports that connection and allows the shaft to rotate smoothly as the damper opens and closes between fan and wash modes.
This assembly absorbs the mechanical load every time the damper cycles, and the bearing surface wears down gradually from that repeated motion combined with exposure to grease-laden air and moisture from wash-down cycles. As wear progresses, the yoke can develop play or the bearing can bind, causing the damper to move sluggishly, stick partway open or closed, or make grinding or squealing noises during operation -- symptoms that point directly to this assembly rather than the actuator motor itself.
Replacement should be handled by a qualified ventilation technician. De-energize the control cabinet and actuator circuit before accessing the damper linkage, then disconnect the actuator motor from the existing yoke and remove the worn assembly from the damper shaft. Install the new yoke and bearing assembly, securing it to the shaft and reconnecting the actuator motor in its original position. Cycle the damper through a full open-close range manually or via the control panel to confirm smooth, quiet operation before closing out the repair.
