The Hinge Cartridge (Part# AA955) is an Omcan-compatible replacement spring-loaded hinge cartridge for use in Omcan commercial refrigeration equipment, including reach-in freezers and refrigerators. Designed for ambidextrous installation, this cartridge mounts on either the left or right side of the door assembly and provides the spring tension necessary to pull the door closed and hold it sealed against the gasket. It is a direct-fit replacement for units built around the CFD-1RR-HC door system, ensuring proper door balance and alignment without modification.
Commercial refrigeration hinges are subject to constant mechanical stress — doors are opened and closed dozens or hundreds of times each day, and the spring mechanism inside the cartridge absorbs the load on every cycle. Over time, the spring weakens or breaks, the cartridge body cracks from impact or repeated compression, or the pivot points wear to the point where the door no longer returns to a fully closed position.
