This shifter yoke is a replacement for Hobart part number 00-013160 (also listed as P-13160) on Hobart A120 12 quart, A200 20 quart and D300 30 quart mixers. The yoke is the shift fork inside the transmission: when the speed control lever is moved, the yoke slides the gear collar along its shaft to select first, second or third speed. It is a metal part made by Alfa International as a direct aftermarket replacement.
The yoke rides against a turning gear collar, so its contact faces wear over time, and it can bend or crack if the mixer is shifted while running or forced into gear. A worn or bent yoke causes hard shifting, gears that pop out of speed, grinding or failure to engage a speed at all. Replacing it restores clean, positive shifting and helps protect the transmission gears from damage.
Because this part sits inside the transmission, we recommend having a qualified service technician install it. Disconnect power, drain and open the transmission, remove the shifter shaft and old yoke, fit the new yoke with its fingers in the gear collar groove, and reassemble. Refill with the correct Hobart gear lubricant and check that each speed engages fully before returning the mixer to service. Always stop the mixer before changing speeds.
