This 80 quart B flat beater is the genuine Hobart part 00-874654 (Hobart model BBEATER-HL80) for Hobart Legacy floor mixers. It is the standard beater for the HL800 80 quart mixer, and it also fits the HL1400 when that mixer runs the 80 quart step-down bowl (BOWL-HL80). It is aluminum and handles cake batter, icing, mashed potatoes and other general mixing.
Flat beaters wear at the hub where they lock onto the agitator shaft and along the edges that sweep the bowl. A worn hub lets the beater wobble or slip, and bent or nicked edges can scrape the bowl or leave unmixed product along the sides. Replacing a worn beater keeps large batches consistent and protects the bowl and the mixer drive.
To install, lower the bowl, slide the beater onto the agitator shaft and engage the locking pin, then raise the bowl. Start on first speed and move up as the batch comes together. Wash by hand with mild detergent and dry promptly, since aluminum can discolor in a dishwasher or with harsh chemicals. Use it only with the 80 quart bowl.
