This short, flexible hose absorbs vibration from the filter pump motor and accommodates minor misalignment between the pump inlet and the drain fitting, preventing stress fractures in the rigid piping. Using the correct hose ensures the proper fitting size, hose diameter, and temperature rating for continuous hot oil service.

Over time, the inlet hose can harden, crack, or develop fitting seal failures from repeated thermal cycling, high-temperature oil exposure, and the mechanical stress of pump vibration over thousands of filtration cycles.
