The Pitco Ignition Module is a direct replacement electronic ignition control for Pitco gas commercial fryers equipped with electronic spark ignition systems. It generates the high-voltage spark sequence that ignites the pilot burner or main burner at startup and monitors the flame signal to confirm successful ignition before opening the main gas valve. Using the correct ignition module ensures compatibility with the fryer's wiring harness, flame sensor, and gas valve control interface.

Over time, ignition modules can fail from heat stress, electrical surges, or internal component degradation, resulting in a fryer that will not light, experiences repeated ignition lockout faults, or fails to hold a flame signal after successful ignition. When the ignition module malfunctions, the gas valve remains closed as a safety precaution and the fryer cannot be brought to operating temperature, causing immediate loss of frying capacity. Replacing the faulty module with the Pitco-compatible ignition module restores the complete spark generation and flame-sensing cycle required for safe, automatic startup.

Replacement typically involves disconnecting the existing module from the wiring harness and mounting the new unit in the same location, with no special tools beyond a screwdriver. It is recommended to replace the ignition module whenever the fryer exhibits repeated ignition failures, lockout fault codes, or fails to establish a stable flame signal after the pilot and gas supply have been verified as functional.
