PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Interlock Switch for Turbochef Part# 102012

Details
This genuine OEM replacement Interlock Switch is the primary door safety switch for TurboChef NGO and compatible TurboChef oven platforms, designed to immediately interrupt power to the magnetron circuit whenever the oven door is opened, preventing microwave emission exposure to operators and bystanders. The interlock switch is the first line of defense in TurboChef's multi-layer microwave safety architecture, and its contact rating, actuation force, and mechanical travel are precisely specified to meet FDA 21 CFR Part 1030 and UL 923 interlock requirements. Using the OEM replacement ensures the switch integrates correctly with the oven's interlock chain wiring, actuates at the door's designed trigger point, and provides reliable circuit interruption throughout its rated service life.
Interlock switch failure is a common service event in high-cycle commercial TurboChef installations and presents in several ways depending on failure mode: a switch with worn or open contacts prevents cook cycle initiation and displays a "door open" fault even when the door is properly closed; a switch with welded or stuck-closed contacts allows the microwave circuit to remain energized with the door open, a serious safety hazard requiring immediate oven shutdown; and a switch with a cracked actuator produces intermittent faults that are difficult to reproduce consistently during service calls. Because the NGO relies on the interlock switch as a primary safety component, any confirmed switch fault warrants immediate replacement before returning the oven to service.
Replacement requires full de-energization and high-voltage capacitor discharge before accessing the interlock switch mounting in the door frame; connect the replacement switch per the NGO wiring diagram, ensuring the normally-open and normally-closed terminals are correctly assigned. Verify that the switch actuator engages and releases at the correct door positions by manually cycling the door while monitoring switch continuity with a meter before re-energizing. Never temporarily bypass the interlock switch to restore oven operation, as this eliminates the microwave safety barrier. Pair the interlock switch replacement with inspection of the door shunt and secondary interlock components to confirm the full multi-layer safety chain is intact and functional after service.
