Details
The Jackson 6401-003-11-75 A-Kit, Wash Tank Float Replacement is an OEM replacement water level sensing switch assembly used in Jackson warewashing equipment to monitor wash tank water level and trigger fill valve operation. The float is a buoyant device connected to an electrical switch that rises and falls with the water level, automatically opening the fill valve when the tank needs water and closing it when the correct level is reached.
Wash tank floats can fail through corrosion of the metal rod or switch mechanism from prolonged exposure to detergent solutions and mineral-rich water, loss of buoyancy if the float chamber fills with water, electrical contact degradation preventing proper switch engagement, or mechanical binding where the float becomes stuck in one position. Failure symptoms include the tank overfilling and water spilling over the edge, complete failure to fill requiring manual water addition, or erratic fill cycles where the equipment fills, stops, then fills again. Improper water level control can lead to inadequate wash action if the tank is underfilled, or water damage to the machine base and electrical components if overfill occurs.
The 6401-003-11-75 float assembly replacement requires draining the wash tank and locating the float mechanism typically mounted inside the tank or on the tank wall. Technicians carefully disconnect the existing switch wires and remove the float rod, then install the new assembly ensuring the float moves freely without binding. After installation, manually test the float by adding and draining water while observing whether the fill valve responds appropriately at the correct water level, adjusting the float position if necessary.
