The Jackson 6401-004-47-76 Cycle Switch Kit, Dishstar is an OEM replacement switch assembly used in Jackson Dishstar series dishwashers to initiate and control wash cycle progression. This component consists of the mechanical switch mechanism that operators use to start the wash cycle and the associated electrical contacts that signal the control system to begin the complete wash, rinse, and drain sequence.
Cycle switches fail through mechanical wear of the actuator from thousands of activation cycles, electrical contact deterioration limiting current flow, internal spring weakness causing inconsistent actuation, or exposure to corrosive moisture and detergent vapors. Failure symptoms include the switch requiring excessive pressure to activate, intermittent cycle starts where the dishwasher sometimes fails to begin operation, or complete inability to initiate wash cycles. A non-functional cycle switch renders the Dishstar dishwasher inoperable because operators have no means to command equipment startup.
