The Pitco Knob - Pilot Valve is a direct replacement control knob for the pilot valve on Pitco commercial gas fryers. This knob mounts directly on the pilot valve stem and provides the tactile and visual interface for the operator to perform the pilot lighting sequence — typically rotating through Off, Pilot, and On positions. Using the correct pilot valve knob ensures precise engagement with the valve stem detents for safe, positive control of the pilot gas circuit during lighting and shutdown procedures.
Over time, the original pilot valve knob can crack, develop a loose bore from wear, or become coated with grease buildup that makes it difficult to grip and rotate through the correct positions. A loose or damaged pilot valve knob is a serious concern, as it can make it difficult to hold the valve stem in the Pilot position during the lighting sequence or to confirm that the valve has reached the Off position during shutdown. Replacing it with this pilot valve knob restores firm stem engagement and clear, tactile position detents for safe pilot lighting and shutoff.
The knob presses onto the pilot valve stem and is typically retained by the stem's own detent mechanism or a small set screw.
