Details

The twins damper ice assembly is a flow control component used in Manitowoc dual-evaporator or twin-section ice machine configurations to manage the distribution of ice or air flow between the two production sections. In twin-section Manitowoc machines, balanced distribution of ice and airflow across both evaporator sections is required to maintain equal production output from each section and to prevent one side from dominating production while the other underperforms.

A failed or misaligned twins damper assembly can cause unequal ice production between the two machine sections, resulting in asymmetric bin filling, unbalanced freeze cycle timing, and overall reduction in the machine's rated daily production capacity. Damper failure may be mechanical (worn pivot, broken linkage) or caused by ice bridging that prevents normal damper movement. Replacing with this OEM assembly restores balanced ice flow distribution between the twin evaporator sections.
