Details

The control board is the central electronic controller of the Manitowoc ice machine, managing every aspect of machine operation including freeze cycle timing, harvest cycle initiation, water fill and dump sequences, pump and motor control, and cleaning cycle management. The board continuously receives inputs from temperature probes, ice thickness sensors, bin switches, water level probes, and pressure switches, using this sensor data to govern the compressor, water pump, dump valve, solenoid valves, and fan motor. Every fault code, cycle transition, and operational decision in the machine originates from the control board.

Control board failure produces a wide range of symptoms because the board governs all machine functions — including machines that fail to start or shut down unexpectedly, harvest cycles that do not initiate despite adequate ice thickness, components failing to actuate on command, incorrect fault codes, or machines stuck in one operational state.
