The Pitco Mixing Valve 3/8 Fpt is a direct replacement thermostatic mixing valve for Pitco commercial pasta cookers and related equipment. With 3/8-inch female pipe thread connections, it blends hot and cold water to deliver a controlled mixed-water temperature for specific equipment functions such as pasta cooker water temperature regulation or condensate management. Using the correct mixing valve ensures the proper mixing temperature setpoint, flow capacity, and connection thread for the target Pitco equipment model.
Over time, the thermostatic cartridge within the mixing valve can fail from mineral scale buildup, worn wax motor elements, or corrosion from water quality issues, causing the valve to deliver water at incorrect temperatures — either too hot or too cold — which affects the quality of the process it serves and can create a safety concern if water is delivered at scalding temperatures. Replacing the mixing valve with a compatible unit restores controlled, correctly tempered water delivery.
Installation requires shutting off both hot and cold water supplies, removing the old valve, and threading in the new valve with appropriate pipe sealant on the 3/8-inch FPT connections.
