Details
The Fryer Filter Motor (Part# 67583) is a Henny Penny-compatible replacement filter pump motor for use in Henny Penny commercial pressure and open fryers. Rated at 1/2 HP and designed to operate on 115/208/230V at 50/60 Hz, single phase, this motor drives the oil filtration pump that circulates cooking oil through the fryer's built-in filtration system. It mounts directly to the pump assembly within the filtration compartment and connects to the fryer's electrical supply, delivering the mechanical force needed to move hot oil through the filter media and back into the fry tank.
In a high-volume commercial kitchen, the filter motor runs repeatedly throughout every shift, enduring sustained heat, oil vapor, vibration, and electrical cycling. Over time, the motor bearings wear, windings degrade from thermal stress, and the motor may begin drawing excess current, running hot, or failing to reach full operating speed. Operators typically notice the problem when the filtration cycle becomes sluggish, the pump produces unusual noise, or the motor fails to start entirely. Ignoring a failing filter motor leads to unfiltered oil, shortened oil life, off-flavors in food, and added strain on the pump assembly — all of which increase operating costs.
Replacement should be performed by a qualified service technician. Begin by powering down the fryer completely and allowing the oil to cool to a safe handling temperature. Drain the fry tank and lock out the power supply before opening the filtration compartment. Disconnect the motor's wiring harness and unbolt it from the pump assembly. Install the replacement motor, ensuring the shaft coupling aligns correctly with the pump impeller before securing the mounting hardware. Reconnect the wiring per the wiring diagram in the fryer's service manual. Before returning the unit to service, verify the motor spins freely, confirm correct rotation direction, and run a complete filter cycle to check for leaks and proper oil flow.
