Details
This blade changing tool is a replacement for Oliver part number 0797-0183-006 (also listed as 0797-0183-006K) and is made for Oliver gravity-feed and counter bread slicers such as the 797-32, 797-48 and 777-N. It is a compact metal hand tool, about 8 1/4 inches long, with a large opening on one end for taking old blades off and a small opening on the other for putting new blades on. It lets you work the blades on and off their tensioning pins without gripping the sharp blade edges by hand.
Changing a full set of slicer blades by hand is slow and is one of the most common ways operators get cut. Without the proper tool, blades are also easy to kink or seat crooked, which leads to torn loaves, uneven slices and blades that break early. A tool that is bent, worn or missing should be replaced so every blade change is quick, consistent and safe.
To change blades, unplug the slicer and wear cut-resistant gloves. Place the large opening of the tool on the blade tensioning pin and push forward until the blade pops off, then repeat for each blade. Hook each new blade on, use the small opening to seat it on its pin, and check that all blades sit straight and evenly tensioned before running bread. Wipe the tool clean and store it with the slicer. This blade changing tool fits Oliver 709, 732-N, 777-N, 797-21, 797-32, 797-32C, 797-32N, 797-32NC, 797-48, 797-48N and 797-PB. Confirm your model before ordering.
