The Pitco Operator is a direct replacement gas valve operator for Pitco commercial gas fryers. This component is the electromechanical portion of the gas valve that converts an electrical signal from the thermostat or control board into mechanical gas valve actuation, opening or closing the valve to control gas flow to the burner. Using the correct operator ensures compatibility with the existing valve body and proper actuation force and stroke for reliable gas flow control.
Over time, the operator's solenoid coil can fail from heat and electrical stress, its mechanical actuator can wear or stick, and the operator body can develop leaks at the valve interface, causing the gas valve to fail to open on demand, remain permanently open, or cycle erratically. These failures result in a fryer that does not heat, cannot be shut off, or cycles the burner unpredictably. Replacing the operator with a compatible part restores reliable gas valve actuation.
The operator typically attaches to the valve body with screws or a snap-on mount and connects to the control circuit via a wiring harness.
