The Pitco Orifice Elbow (Lp) 5/16 X 32 #.010 is a direct replacement combination fitting for Pitco commercial fryers operating on liquid propane. It combines a 90-degree directional elbow with a precisely drilled .010-inch orifice bore in a 5/16-inch, 32-thread-per-inch body, routing LP gas flow at a right angle while controlling the fuel volume delivered to the burner. Using this LP-rated elbow-orifice ensures correct gas metering and flame geometry as the fryer's burner design requires.
Over time, the original orifice elbow can experience bore fouling from carbon deposits or corrosion, thread degradation, or damage to the elbow body from overtightening, all of which affect both gas flow rate and directional integrity. A compromised fitting can produce uneven, unstable flames, poor heat distribution across the fry vessel, and elevated gas consumption. Replacing it with this component restores the calibrated .010-inch LP bore and the correct 90-degree routing, eliminating combustion deficiencies tied to a faulty fitting.
The fitting is installed with hand tools and should be sealed with an appropriate gas-rated thread compound during reassembly.
