Details

The Perfect Fry 83108 Blow‑Off Cap (OEM reference 6GT014) is a genuine OEM pressure relief and sealing component for the wet chemical fire suppression system nozzle assembly on Perfect Fry PFA and PFC series ventless countertop fryers. This cap covers the nozzle outlet under normal operating conditions, preventing cooking grease, oil vapors, and debris from entering the nozzle bore and clogging the discharge orifice. When the fire suppression system activates, the pressurized wet chemical agent forces the cap off the nozzle at a predetermined pressure, allowing the agent to be distributed over the cooking surface without obstruction.

A clogged nozzle is one of the most insidious failure modes in a wet chemical suppression system because the system may appear intact and fully charged but will fail to provide adequate agent distribution when it actually needs to discharge. The blow‑off cap prevents this failure mode by keeping the nozzle bore sealed against the grease‑laden environment inside the fryer, and its design ensures it clears the orifice completely upon actuation so it does not restrict the discharge pattern. After a discharge event, the blow‑off cap must be replaced because it is a single‑use component that is dislodged during the discharge and cannot be reliably reinstalled.

The 83108 cap should be replaced during every fire suppression service event as part of the standard NFPA 17A maintenance procedure, and it must be replaced after any discharge whether the discharge was fire‑related or accidental. The cap installs onto the nozzle outlet per the manufacturer's assembly procedure and should be confirmed as correctly seated before the fire suppression system is returned to armed status. After installation, a visual inspection of the nozzle bore to confirm it is clear and unobstructed, and verification that the cap is retained at the correct removal force, completes the nozzle service.
