The Perfect Fry 83155 Heater Assembly is a genuine OEM 1.87kW, 120V, single‑phase replacement heating element for Perfect Fry PFA series ventless countertop fryers operating on standard North American 120V circuits. Drawing approximately 15.6 amps at 120V, this element is designed for fryer configurations where a standard 120V household‑style circuit is the available power source, offering a lower‑installation‑cost option for locations where 208V or 240V dedicated circuits are not available. The factory watt density is calibrated for the PFA vat at this power level to provide safe, consistent heat delivery.
At 1,870 watts, this element operates at the lowest power level in the PFA series range, and oil temperature recovery between loads is slower than with higher‑wattage configurations. This makes it especially important to maintain fresh, clean oil in the vat, since carbonized oil increases the thermal resistance between the element and the bulk oil and further extends recovery times. Element failure modes are the same as other PFA elements but may be easier to trigger because the 120V sheath operates at a proportionally higher current‑to‑surface‑area ratio at lower voltage, making overheating from carbonization deposits more impactful.
Replacing the 83155 follows the same procedure as other PFA elements: de‑energize the fryer, drain the vat, disconnect the element leads, and install the new assembly using the original mounting hardware.
