The Perfect Fry 83260 Air Filter Switch for the PFA Series is a genuine OEM replacement sensor switch that detects the presence and correct seating of the air filter cartridge in the filtration cavity of Perfect Fry PFA series ventless countertop fryers. This switch is wired into the fryer's safety interlock circuit and prevents the fryer from starting or continuing to operate unless the filter is installed and properly seated, ensuring that cooking vapors are always processed through the filtration system before entering the kitchen. The switch is a required functional element for the fryer to comply with its ventless UL 710B performance certification.

Air filter switches can fail in two ways: a switch that fails open will prevent the fryer from starting even when the filter is correctly installed, causing the operator to see a persistent filter fault code. A switch that fails closed will allow the fryer to operate without a filter installed, bypassing the safety interlock and allowing unfiltered cooking vapors into the kitchen environment.
