The Perfect Fry 83375 SCR Board Assembly (OEM reference 3WT004) is a genuine OEM silicon controlled rectifier power control circuit board that regulates electrical energy delivery to the heating elements in Perfect Fry PFA and PFC series ventless countertop fryers. By modulating the firing angle of the SCR devices on the board, the assembly controls the proportion of each AC cycle delivered to the heater, enabling smooth, stepless oil temperature regulation without the on/off cycling of a simple relay‑controlled heater circuit. This approach reduces thermal shock on the heating elements and provides more precise temperature control than binary switching.

SCR boards are subject to failure from voltage transients that exceed the SCR device's breakover voltage, excessive heat from sustained high‑load operation without adequate cooling, and component aging that causes gate trigger timing to drift out of specification. A shorted SCR will cause the heater to run at full power regardless of the control signal, producing runaway oil heating that requires an emergency shutdown. An open SCR will prevent the heater from receiving power, generating a heating fault code. Intermittent SCR faults can manifest as erratic temperature behavior that may be difficult to reproduce consistently during a service visit.
