The Perfect Fry 83659 Fusible Link Tab with Link Kit is a genuine OEM replacement service kit that provides a new fusible link together with the mounting tab hardware used to secure the link in the fire detection circuit of Perfect Fry PFA and PFC series ventless countertop fryers. The mounting tab positions the fusible link precisely at the correct detection point in the fire suppression system's thermal sensing circuit, ensuring the link is exposed to the thermal environment it is designed to detect. Providing the complete tab and link assembly in a single kit simplifies the service procedure and ensures both components are renewed together.
Fusible link mounting tabs can become damaged or deformed during fire events or during service activities that require accessing the detection circuit area. A damaged tab that does not position the link correctly can cause the link to sit in a lower‑temperature zone than intended, preventing actuation at the correct temperature, or in a higher‑temperature zone, causing premature actuation. Because NFPA 17A requires replacement of the fusible link every 6 months regardless of condition, including the mounting tab hardware in the same replacement kit ensures both the link and its positioning hardware are always in as‑new condition together.
The 83659 kit should be used during every NFPA 17A 6‑month fire suppression service, as the tab and link are both single‑use items from a practical standpoint. Installation follows the fire suppression system service procedure with the system in the safe, de‑pressurized service state.
