The Perfect Fry 83698 PFC Door Spring Kit is a genuine OEM two‑piece spring set that provides the tension and return force for the front door mechanism on Perfect Fry PFC series ventless countertop fryers. The two springs in this kit work together to give the door consistent, balanced opening resistance and a positive return to the closed position, ensuring the door seats firmly against the door gasket every time it is closed. Spring tension is an important factor in maintaining gasket compression and cooking cavity integrity, as a door with insufficient closing force may not seat the gasket fully.
Door springs in commercial kitchen equipment are subject to metal fatigue from thousands of door open and close cycles, and both springs in a matched pair typically reach their fatigue limit at similar times. When spring tension drops, the door begins to feel lighter and may not return to the fully closed position without deliberate force from the operator, which can lead to the door being left partially open during a fry cycle. A broken spring creates an asymmetric door load that puts additional stress on the remaining spring and the door hinge, accelerating wear of those components as well.
