PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Perfect Fry 83701 Kit, Fusible Link / Cap Post 5/16 is an OEM replacement part designed for use with Perfect Fry commercial ventless frying systems. This component supports proper operation, safety, and performance of compatible equipment.

Details
The Perfect Fry 83701 Fusible Link and Cap Post Kit (5/16 and newer) is a genuine OEM fire suppression system service kit designed for Perfect Fry PFA and PFC series fryers manufactured at or above the serial number 5/16 cutoff. This kit provides the fusible link and cap post hardware used in the fire detection circuit of the current‑generation fire suppression system configuration, ensuring that the NFPA 17A 6‑month fusible link replacement can be completed with the correctly specified hardware for these production units. Using serial‑number‑appropriate parts is important because the hardware configuration changed between production runs.
The cap post in this kit serves as the mechanical retention and positioning element for the fusible link in the fryer's detection circuit, and its dimensional and material specifications determine how the link sits relative to the heat source it is intended to detect. A cap post that is worn, damaged, or from the wrong production era may not position the link correctly, which can affect the system's response temperature accuracy. Replacing both the link and the cap post together at the same 6‑month service interval ensures the complete thermal detection assembly is renewed as a matched set.
Always verify the fryer's serial number before ordering to confirm the 83701 kit is appropriate for the specific unit being serviced; fryers with earlier serial numbers require the pre‑5/16 configuration kit. Service must be performed in the system's safe, de‑pressurized state per NFPA 17A procedures. After installation of the new link and cap post, the detection circuit should be tested for continuity and the actuation mechanism verified as properly engaged before the inspection tag is updated and the fryer is approved to return to service.
