The Perfect Fry 83800 Fire Extinguisher Bottle is the genuine OEM wet chemical fire suppressant vessel for the built‑in automatic fire suppression system on Perfect Fry PFA and PFC series ventless countertop fryers. This 3‑inch diameter Amerex‑compatible bottle holds the wet chemical agent that is automatically discharged over the cooking surface in the event of a fire, suppressing a cooking fire before it can spread to adjacent surfaces or the kitchen ventilation system. The fire extinguisher bottle is a mandatory component of the fryer's NFPA 17A compliance package and must be maintained in a fully charged and inspected condition at all times.
The extinguisher bottle is subject to slow pressure loss over time from microscopic permeation through seals and valve components, and the wet chemical agent itself has a service life that is independent of pressure. NFPA 17A requires that the fire suppression system be inspected at regular intervals by a qualified service provider, and if the bottle is found to be discharged or has exceeded its chemical service life, it must be recharged or replaced before the fryer can be returned to compliant operation. A fryer operating with a discharged or expired fire suppression system is a code violation and a serious liability in the event of a fire.
The 83800 bottle is used in conjunction with the fire extinguisher recharge kit (83804) for in‑field recharge by an authorized Amerex distributor, or it can be replaced as a complete unit using the after‑discharge replacement kit (83807) when local Amerex service is not available. The bottle mounts in the fryer's fire suppression cavity using the original retention hardware, and after any service to the fire suppression system, the system must be inspected for correct installation, proper pressurization, and functioning detection and actuation components before being returned to service status.
