The Perfect Fry 84229 PFA 2.0 Basket Motor Kit is a genuine OEM replacement drive motor assembly kit for the basket mechanism on Perfect Fry PFA 2.0 series ventless countertop fryers. This kit provides all components needed to replace the basket drive motor module in the updated PFA 2.0 platform, restoring the fryer's automatic basket lowering and lifting function that keeps operators safe during oil immersion and extraction. The PFA 2.0 basket motor is a platform‑specific component and is not interchangeable with basket motors from earlier PFA series fryers.
The PFA 2.0 basket motor operates as part of an integrated control architecture that also coordinates the element lift and drawer motor functions, meaning that basket motor faults in this platform can sometimes produce error codes that appear to implicate the control board or other components before the motor itself is identified as the source. When basket travel becomes slow or inconsistent, or when lift‑related fault codes appear after ruling out control board and harness causes, the basket motor should be measured for correct current draw and output speed before being replaced. Replacing a basket motor that is still within specification does not resolve a fault caused by the control board.
The 84229 kit installs using the original PFA 2.0 basket motor mounting configuration and connects to the factory motor drive harness through the OEM connector. After installation, the fryer should be run through the complete basket motor commissioning procedure per the PFA 2.0 service documentation to confirm that the motor timing and position sensing are correctly configured for the new motor.
