As the sealed refrigeration compressor, it is built to Perlick's original specifications for fit, performance, and long-term reliability. The compressor is the mechanical heart of the refrigeration circuit in Perlick back bar refrigerators, draft beer systems, and ice cream cabinets, drawing in low-pressure refrigerant vapor from the evaporator and compressing it to the high pressure and temperature needed for the condenser to reject heat. Continuous duty cycling in a busy bar or kitchen environment, combined with heat and vibration around the condensing unit, puts steady wear on the compressor's internal motor windings, valves, and bearings over years of service.
