The Pitco Pilot Assy is a direct replacement pilot assembly for Pitco commercial gas fryers. It is a complete pilot system subassembly that may include the pilot burner, orifice, bracket, thermocouple or thermopile, and associated tubing and fittings, providing a ready-to-install unit that restores the pilot ignition system to factory condition. Using the correct pilot assembly ensures all components are factory-matched and correctly sized for the specific Pitco fryer model and gas type.
Over time, pilot assemblies deteriorate as a system: the orifice clogs, the bracket corrodes, the thermocouple tip oxidizes, and the tubing can develop pinhole leaks, collectively causing unreliable pilot ignition, poor flame sensor response, and gas safety lockouts. Replacing individual components one at a time can be time-consuming and may leave other degraded parts in service. Installing the complete Pilot Assy restores the entire pilot system in a single service step.
Installation involves removing the old assembly from the burner compartment, connecting the gas tubing, mounting the bracket, and routing the thermocouple or thermopile lead to the gas valve. It is recommended to perform a full gas leak check at all connections and confirm stable pilot flame and proper gas valve hold-in after installation. Pairing pilot assembly replacement with a cleaning of the main burner ports will ensure the restored pilot ignition system lights the main burner reliably under all operating conditions.
