The Pitco Pilot Burner - Nat/Lp is a direct replacement pilot burner for Pitco commercial gas fryers, designed for use with either natural gas or LP gas. It provides the continuous or intermittent pilot flame that ignites the main burner and supports the flame sensing or thermopile system. Using the correct pilot burner ensures the proper orifice size for the configured gas type and the correct flame shape for reliable ignition and sensing.
Over time, the pilot burner orifice can accumulate carbon deposits that restrict gas flow and produce a small, yellow, or unstable pilot flame that fails to ignite the main burner or generate adequate thermopile millivoltage. A degraded pilot burner leads to ignition failures, fryer lockouts, and frustrating service interruptions. Replacing the pilot burner with a compatible part restores a clean, correctly sized orifice and a strong, stable pilot flame.
The pilot burner mounts in the burner compartment and connects to the gas valve pilot outlet. It is recommended to clean the area around the pilot mounting bracket and check the gas valve pilot adjustment after installing the replacement. Pairing pilot burner replacement with an inspection of the thermopile or flame sensor, depending on the control system type, will ensure the entire pilot-to-main-burner ignition chain is functioning correctly.
