The Pitco Pilot Orifice .010 is a direct replacement pilot gas orifice for Pitco commercial gas fryers. Drilled to a precise .010-inch bore, this small orifice meters the exact volume of gas supplied to the pilot burner assembly, ensuring the pilot flame is the correct size to reliably ignite the main burner when the thermostat calls for heat. Using the correct pilot orifice maintains the pilot flame geometry the fryer's safety and ignition system was designed to operate with.
Over time, the original pilot orifice can become clogged with dust, carbonized gas impurities, or spider webs — a common cause of pilot failure — or its bore can enlarge from corrosion, causing an oversized pilot flame that wastes gas and can cause nuisance safety valve trips. A blocked pilot orifice results in pilot outages and the inability to maintain a standing pilot flame, leaving the fryer inoperable until the issue is resolved.
