The Pitco Actuator, 24VDC, STL Motor Only is a genuine OEM replacement motor for the Pitco STL-series 24VDC linear actuator used in Pitco automated oil filtration systems. The motor provides the drive force to extend and retract the actuator shaft, which opens and closes the powered ball valve that drains the fryer vat for a filtration cycle. Using the correct OEM replacement motor ensures the correct voltage, torque, and travel speed to operate the STL actuator within the filter system's timing sequence.

Over time, the original actuator motor can fail from brushed motor wear, gear train damage from back-driving the valve against system pressure, or internal corrosion from moisture and steam infiltration into the actuator housing. A failed motor leaves the powered ball valve frozen in the open or closed position, either preventing filtration or leaving the fryer unable to retain oil. Installing the replacement motor restores the full open-close actuation cycle of the drain valve.

The motor module is removed and replaced within the STL actuator body using the actuator's standard service access, and the actuator is then reinstalled on the ball valve. It is recommended to replace the actuator motor whenever the valve fails to complete its full travel or the actuator runs but produces no valve movement. Pairing the new motor installation with a filter cycle run test will confirm the drain valve is opening and closing correctly through the full automated sequence.
