The Pitco Computer, K12 Modbus is a genuine OEM replacement K12-series digital fryer control computer with Modbus communication capability for Pitco commercial fryers. In addition to managing oil temperature, cook timers, and filter cycle prompts, the K12 Modbus transmits real-time fryer operating data over a Modbus RS-485 network to a restaurant management or building automation system. Using the correct OEM computer ensures compatibility with the fryer's sensor and actuator wiring as well as the Modbus register map used by the connected management system.
Over time, the original K12 Modbus computer can experience display failures, keypad wear, Modbus transceiver faults from electrical noise on the communication bus, or memory corruption that scrambles cook programs and setpoints. A failed Modbus transceiver breaks the data link to the management system, eliminating remote monitoring and alarming capability. Installing the replacement computer restores both local fryer control and Modbus network communication.
The computer installs in the original control panel location and connects to the fryer wiring harness and the Modbus RS-485 network cable using the existing connectors. It is recommended to replace the K12 Modbus computer whenever Modbus communication cannot be restored by network troubleshooting or when local fryer control functions become unreliable. Pairing the new computer installation with a Modbus address configuration and register map verification will confirm full integration with the restaurant management network.
