It regulates and controls gas flow to the main burner, providing the precise fuel pressure required for the fryer's rated BTU output and efficient combustion. Using the correct OEM valve ensures the outlet pressure matches the burner's design specification, preventing over-fire or under-fire conditions.
Over time, the original gas valve can experience regulator spring fatigue that causes outlet pressure to drift above or below the 4.0 WC setpoint, solenoid coil failures, or diaphragm damage from moisture or debris in the gas line. Pressure drift leads to inefficient combustion, increased fuel cost, and potential carbon monoxide production from incomplete combustion.
