The Pitco Wiring, Probe Service Kit, SG 2 Element is a genuine OEM replacement service kit for Pitco Solstice Gas fryers equipped with dual heating elements and a two-element probe wiring configuration. It provides both the dual-element temperature sensing probe and the associated wiring harness to restore accurate temperature feedback from both heating zones in the fryer vat. Using the correct OEM kit ensures the probe outputs and wiring match the SG 2-element control board's input requirements exactly.
Over time, the two-element probe assembly can develop element-to-element imbalance, open-circuit failures in one sensing element, or wiring harness degradation that causes the control board to report false differential temperature faults between the two elements. These conditions result in uneven vat heating, nuisance shutdowns, or inaccurate average temperature readings. Installing this service kit replaces both sensing elements and the full harness to eliminate all sources of probe system error.
The probe mounts in the original vat bulkhead location and the harness routes to the control board's dual-probe input connectors. It is recommended to replace the probe and wiring as a set whenever one element fails or when temperature differential faults between the two elements cannot be cleared by cleaning the probe contacts.
