The Pitco Filter Crumb Catch Weldment, Silver is a genuine OEM replacement stainless steel crumb catch assembly for Pitco commercial fryer filter pans. It sits in the filter pan beneath the filter media and captures large food crumbs and batter fragments before they can clog the filter media or the pump inlet screen. Using the correct OEM weldment ensures it fits securely in the filter pan, covers the drain ports, and positions the crumb catch screen at the correct height to allow clean oil to flow beneath the media.
Over time, the original crumb catch weldment can develop weld cracks, screen tears, or a warped frame from repeated cleaning and the thermal shock of hot-oil contact. A damaged crumb catch screen allows large debris to reach the filter pump inlet, potentially clogging or damaging the pump impeller. Installing the replacement weldment provides a structurally sound crumb barrier that protects the filter media and pump from large-particle contamination.
The weldment is placed in the filter pan and positioned correctly relative to the drain port before the filter media is laid on top. It is recommended to clean the crumb catch weldment thoroughly after each filter cycle and inspect it for weld cracks and screen tears, replacing it when damage is found.
