The Pitco Pump Motor, 1/3 HP, 115/230V, 50/60Hz is a genuine OEM replacement electric motor for Pitco commercial fryer oil filtration pump systems, rated at one-third horsepower for dual-voltage 115 or 230V operation at either 50 or 60 Hz supply frequency. The dual-voltage, dual-frequency rating makes this motor suitable for domestic and international Pitco fryer installations. Using the correct OEM motor ensures the shaft diameter, frame mounting dimensions, and performance curve match the filtration pump's design.
Over time, the original pump motor can fail from bearing wear, capacitor failure in single-phase designs, winding insulation breakdown from prolonged operation in high-ambient-temperature environments, or ingress of oil vapor into the motor housing. A failed motor stops oil filtration entirely, requiring manual oil management and significantly accelerating oil degradation. Installing the replacement 1/3 HP motor restores automated pump operation at the correct speed and torque.
The motor is coupled to the pump body using the original shaft coupling or close-coupled flange arrangement and is wired into the filter system power circuit. It is recommended to replace the pump motor annually during scheduled preventive maintenance or immediately upon failure to start or excessive current draw.
