PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Pressure Regulator for Pitco Part# PTP6071551

Details
The Pitco Pressure Regulator is a direct replacement gas pressure regulator for Pitco commercial gas fryers, reducing the upstream gas supply pressure to the steady, controlled downstream pressure specified for the fryer's burner system. By maintaining consistent manifold pressure regardless of fluctuations in the building gas supply, it ensures that the burner orifices deliver the correct gas flow rate for rated heat output and stable flame performance. Using the correct pressure regulator ensures the proper outlet pressure setting, connection size, and flow capacity for the specific Pitco fryer model and gas type.
Over time, pressure regulator diaphragms can harden, crack, or develop pinhole leaks, causing the outlet pressure to drift high or low and producing symptoms such as excessive flame height, burner flashback, or insufficient heat output. An incorrectly regulated gas pressure also affects pilot flame stability and can cause the thermopile or thermocouple to overheat or underperform. Replacing the worn regulator with the Pitco-compatible part restores the factory-specified manifold pressure and returns the burner system to its designed heat output and flame characteristics.
Replacement requires shutting off the gas supply, disconnecting the regulator from the gas train, and installing the new unit with appropriate pipe thread sealant. It is recommended to verify outlet pressure with a manometer after installation and to compare it with the specification listed on the fryer's rating plate or service manual. Pairing regulator replacement with a full gas train inspection including the gas valve, pilot orifice, and main burner orifices will ensure the entire combustion system is operating within specification.
