Details
The high-pressure switch monitors refrigerant pressure on the high side of the refrigeration system and interrupts compressor operation if the discharge pressure exceeds the switch's rated setpoint. In Manitowoc ice machines, high head pressure is typically caused by a dirty or blocked condenser, insufficient condenser airflow, elevated ambient temperatures, or a failed condenser fan motor. The pressure switch acts as the final safety device that prevents compressor damage under these conditions.
