The Pitco Pump is a direct replacement centrifugal pump for Pitco commercial fryer oil filtration systems. It transfers hot cooking oil from the filter pan, through the filter media, and back into the fryer vat at the flow rate required for effective filtration. Using the correct pump ensures proper impeller diameter, housing material compatibility with hot oil, and correct port sizing to match the filtration circuit.
Over time, the original pump can suffer impeller wear, housing corrosion, mechanical seal failure, or blockage from carbonized food debris that bypasses the filter media. A degraded pump produces reduced flow, increased cycle times, or complete loss of oil return, leaving the fryer vat empty and oil sitting hot in the filter pan. Installing the replacement pump restores full-rated flow through the filtration circuit.
The pump body bolts to the filter pan or pump mounting bracket and connects to the inlet and outlet hoses using standard fittings. It is recommended to replace the pump when flow rate visibly decreases or the pump fails to prime and move oil within the normal cycle time. Pairing the new pump with a full hose inspection and fresh filter media will give the filtration system optimal throughput from the first use.
