The Pitco Pump Motor is a direct replacement motor for Pitco commercial fryer filter pump systems. It provides the rotational power to drive the pump impeller that transfers hot cooking oil through the filtration circuit. Using the correct motor ensures the proper frame size, voltage rating, and thermal class to operate continuously in the high-ambient-temperature environment beneath a commercial fryer.
Over time, the original pump motor can fail from bearing seizure, thermal overload trips caused by blocked impellers or low voltage, winding insulation breakdown from oil vapor ingress, or run capacitor failure in single-phase designs. A failed motor stops oil filtration entirely, forcing operators to drain and refill the fryer manually or defer filtration, which accelerates oil breakdown and increases operating costs. Installing the replacement motor restores automated filtration capability.
The motor mounts to the pump using a close-coupled or flexible-coupled connection and is wired into the filter system's power circuit. It is recommended to replace the pump motor whenever it fails to start, runs hot, or draws amperage outside the nameplate rating. Pairing the new motor with a pump impeller inspection and a check of the filter system wiring connections will give the filtration drive system a reliable and complete restoration.
