PRODUCT OVERVIEW
- Aftermarket replacement water pump, part# 84-8079-3
- Continuously circulates water over the evaporator surface during the freeze cycle
- Must deliver consistent flow rate and pressure for uniform ice formation
- Direct replacement for Manitowoc commercial ice machines
- Restores proper water distribution for consistent ice production

Details
The water pump in a Manitowoc ice machine runs continuously throughout the freeze cycle, drawing water from the sump trough and delivering it under pressure through the water distribution system and over the face of the evaporator. This constant recirculation creates the thin, even film of water across all evaporator cells essential for forming uniformly sized, clear ice cubes. Any degradation in pump performance directly reduces ice quality and daily production output.
Water pump failure is among the most frequent causes of ice machine service calls on Manitowoc equipment. Symptoms include thin or hollow ice cubes, incomplete ice grids with unfilled cells, erratic production, or a full freeze cycle failure accompanied by a low-water or pump fault code. A pump beginning to fail may circulate water but at insufficient pressure, creating dry spots on the evaporator and resulting in deformed ice that may stick during harvest. Replacing the water pump with this aftermarket part restores full circulation pressure, eliminates dry-spot evaporator conditions, and returns the machine to rated daily ice output.
