The Pitco Radiant - S/S is a direct replacement stainless steel heat radiant for Pitco commercial gas fryers. Positioned above the gas burner within the fry vessel, this stainless steel radiant absorbs combustion heat and re-radiates it evenly across the cooking zone, moderating direct flame impingement and promoting uniform oil temperature distribution. Using the stainless steel radiant ensures the correct fit and the corrosion resistance needed for a long service life in the harsh thermal and chemical environment of a commercial fryer.
Over time, the original stainless steel radiant can warp from repeated thermal cycling, accumulate baked-on grease residue that alters its heat distribution characteristics, or develop stress cracking at fabrication bends. A warped or damaged radiant disrupts even heat distribution, creates localized oil overheating, and accelerates oil degradation. Replacing it with this stainless steel radiant restores the designed heat distribution profile, protecting oil quality and ensuring consistent frying temperatures across the vessel.
Installation involves positioning the radiant on its support structure above the burner, which typically requires no specialized tools. It is recommended to inspect the stainless steel radiant during every major fryer service and to replace it if warping, cracking, or severe grease buildup that cannot be cleaned is found.
