The Pitco Safety Thermostat LCC is a direct replacement high-limit safety thermostat for Pitco commercial fryers in the LCC model family, designed to protect the fryer and kitchen from fire risk by interrupting the heating circuit if oil temperature rises beyond a predetermined safe maximum. As an independent protective device, it operates outside the normal temperature control loop and acts as the last line of defense against oil overtemperature events caused by a failed operating thermostat or other control malfunction. Using the correct LCC safety thermostat guarantees the proper calibrated trip temperature and reset type for LCC-series Pitco fryers.

Over time, the safety thermostat can fail to operate at the correct trip temperature due to capillary fluid loss, or it may experience nuisance trips from mechanical shock or gradual contact degradation, interrupting service without an actual overtemperature condition. In either failure mode, the device no longer provides reliable protection, exposing the operation to either a safety risk or unnecessary downtime.
