The Pitco Snap-In Switch 5/8 X 1-1/4 SPST is a direct replacement single-pole single-throw snap-in switch for Pitco commercial fryers. It provides simple on/off control of a single circuit and installs directly into a rectangular panel cutout using a snap-in retention mechanism that requires no additional hardware. Using the correct part ensures the right contact rating, actuator type, and snap-in clip dimensions for a secure, tool-free installation.
Over time, SPST snap-in switches can fail from contact wear, actuator fatigue, or degradation of the plastic snap clip from prolonged heat exposure, causing the switch to stick, lose contact, or fall out of the panel. A failed switch can disable the circuit it controls — such as a pump, filter, or lighting circuit — interrupting normal fryer operation. Replacing the snap-in switch restores reliable single-circuit switching and panel retention.
The snap-in design allows the switch to be pressed into the panel cutout and secured without tools, and the wiring terminals accept standard spade or push-on connectors. It is recommended to replace the switch at the first sign of sticking, intermittent contact, or physical loosening in the panel. Pairing switch replacement with an inspection of the panel cutout for deformation and a check of the connected wiring will ensure the new switch seats firmly and operates reliably.
