Details

The solenoid coil is the electromagnetic actuator component of solenoid valves used throughout Manitowoc ice machines to control both refrigerant and water flow at critical points in the freeze and harvest cycles. When energized by the control board, the coil generates a magnetic field that opens the valve body. Hot gas solenoid valves direct compressed refrigerant to the evaporator during harvest to release the ice slab, while water solenoid valves control fill and dump functions. These coils must actuate reliably thousands of times per day.

A shorted, open-circuit, or mechanically failed solenoid coil prevents the corresponding valve from actuating, causing machine failure at the specific point in the cycle where that valve is required. Coil failure can often be confirmed with a resistance measurement at the coil terminals. Replacing with this aftermarket solenoid coil is a cost-effective repair that restores reliable valve actuation without requiring replacement of the entire valve body assembly.
