The Solenoid Valve-240V (Part# 5162-2) is a Southbend-compatible replacement solenoid valve for use in Southbend commercial ranges, griddles, broilers, and gas cooking equipment and steam-side plumbing. Solenoid valves provide electrically actuated on/off control of gas, water, or steam flow, opening and closing automatically in response to a control signal from the equipment's electrical system.
The solenoid coil creates a magnetic field that lifts an internal plunger to open the valve seat when energized, and a spring returns the plunger to the closed position when the signal is removed. This fast, repeatable actuation makes solenoid valves well suited to automated fill, purge, and safety shutoff functions in commercial kitchen equipment.
